Tough decision time: I thought I was going to be facing the question "Am I going to continue trying to fix the novel that is not going to work, or am I going to start something totally different?"

I still may wind up facing that question, but I've been discussing it with some other writer friends. This week, I plan on finishing the story for that "Writing Short" workshop. Then, I will try to look at the novel again with totally fresh eyes -- keeping the core of the things that drew me to this story in the first place. We shall see...

For today, I am accomplishing stuff: read from BoC and gospel of Matthew. So far, I have written 300 words on the short story project. (Aiming for 2500 this week...)

So... it's time to shut up on my blogging!

I feel a little bit less "scattered" today. That, in and of itself, allowed me to quickly finish some non-writing goals:
o - Download SeaMonkey update and run it
o - Write a couple of friends who are undergoing similar struggles -- introducing them to each other via e-mail
o - Update Zion website
o - Talk to Carol about a couple of apologetics books
o - Encourage Myra in her search for a computer even though living in a nursing home


Earlier, I was listening to some music that my niece, Audrey, recommended. At the moment, I'm listening to
Donofrio / Cwirla - Episode 46B [29:00] - The God Whisperers at http://www.piratechristianradio.com/ and then I will listen to whatever is on that station while I work on some of my writing stuff.

Later, I want to do some more reading in "Discourses in Matthew"...

Tomorrow I will probably not be online. Mom and I will be visiting with a friend we met... 35-ish years ago. She and her family were in a Bible study together at that time, we were studying the Book of James. It was pretty in depth -- I remember that we took 15 minutes on the first word (in the KJ V., anyhow), "James."

They are family moved on to a different church at least 15 years ago. We moved on to a different church five or 10 years ago, and then another church three or four years ago.

It should be fun...

I must be afraid to write or something because this week (and last week) everything seems to be conspiring against me, preventing me from writing. When something happens that often, something is UP.

Of course, it also is Holy Week. I have Bible study tonight, church tomorrow and Friday and Sunday. I just don't think I can make it to the Preparation devotion and gathering on Saturday. I just don't seem to be able to do everything I want to do...

While I haven't gotten any writing done today, I have achieved other goals:
o - Upload Pastor Teichmiller's sermon from Sunday to the Zion Tomball "Sermons and Podcasts" webpage
o - Help Mother securely erase her hard drive
o - Get information for Kathy on https://www.yourtexasbenefits.com/

I probably will not get back here today, but I hope to accomplish a little bit more before I call it quits... :-)

Going to church must be good for me. ;-) If nothing else, it gets me away from the computer (and Dragon NaturallySpeaking) long enough to interact with real life and people. Naturally, I also get a chance to rest my voice.

And that's not even taking into account the real benefits! Those I will discuss on my Lutheran blog...

One of the things that is going to probably have to go on that blog or my political blog is http://www.newsweek.com/id/192583 The End of Christian America. Interesting article, that... but I do not believe that a COUNTRY can be Christian to begin with. That discussion DEFINITELY goes on some of my other blogs.

Mother needs help with her computer, so I don't know how far I will get with my writing goal. I just want to work on my "Writing Short" Workshop at FM.

I absolutely and positively HAVE to see if I can pull the threads of my scattered thoughts together so I can write. (PREFERABLY before I lose my voice and Dragon NaturallySpeaking becomes useless...)

Don't get me wrong, I have been doing stuff. Mother needed help with her computer. I need to make sure that time sheets and other administrative stuff for my attendant care is getting done. (Have I ever mentioned how deeply I HATE bureaucracies?) I think I may have managed to combine some of my blogging comments via IntenseDebate... maybe.

I just haven't gotten in my writing time yet... and I want to:
-- work on my FM challenge (2500 words in 48 hours)
-- work on the Writing Short Workshop

Yesterday was not exactly my biggest writing day, but I did do a little bit of work on the "Forward Motion: Writing Short" workshop.

Then Randy and Vicki showed up...

Then the plumber showed up...

Then the physical therapist showed up around 6 p.m. to evaluate my range of motion...

Dinner at 8:30 p.m. Let's just say that I was beat!

I got my Port-A-Cath flushed today, so I am good on that for a month

NOW I can get back to working.

I didn't do much yesterday, either. It was one of those days when everything you do is wrong.

At least I got a couple of things done for the "Writing Short" workshop... and I don't think any of those has blown up yet.

I'm so glad I've turned STUPID off today! I undid the damage I did yesterday AND finished posting the sermons I was trying to post yesterday. I suppose that everybody has those kind of days every so often...

It does not mean that we have to like them!

Anyhow, I am trying to catch up with everything.

Yesterday and today are dedicated to interruptions. Writing may not occur... I do not know if this will get to you anytime soon -- the Internet router box seems to have died. Mother will run up to Best Buy and see if we can get a replacement.

Have you heard the new four CD set from CPH called "Heirs of the Reformation"? It is extraordinary In fact... one of the tracks I heard yesterday just nearly floored me and reminded me of you. I really like the hymn, "Lord, Thee I Love With All My Heart" but the CPH singers really kicked a home run with this version -- even though they only did the third verse. "Lord, Let at Last Thine Angels Come" is absolutely VICTORIOUS. I just listened to it again and it brought tears to my eyes...

I'm going to run and read the installation manual... Mother is back.

I was so Spacey yesterday, and it is continuing today. I'm not entirely sure where to place the blame.

I'm just not entirely focused on don't know why.

Maybe I should just blame it on the fact that I watched "24" last night. I should have recognized the foreshadowing. I AM a writer, and I know the tricks. Still, I should have figured out that Bill Buchanan was dead. That show kills off EVERYBODY!

Oh well...

I am one third of the way done with the article for Zion's newsletter. I am also one third of the way done with today's assignment for the "Writing Short" Workshop.

Focus and finish... that's what I need to do.
